Destiny 2: Forsaken

Tomorrow we will finally be able to experience the hype that has been Destiny 2: Forsaken.

Tomorrow we will finally be able to experience the hype that has been Destiny 2: Forsaken.

The new expansion from Bungie launches worldwide on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on Tuesday, September 4th. Changes include updates to the Crucible, new guardian powers, weapon slot adjustments, new enemies and environments and a new dark storyline to play through.

The Weapons

The pace of Crucible has quickened with improved player movement speed. You’ll also see the time to kill has been drastically changed with an overhaul on all weapon types. The biggest and most notable change is the new weapon slot changes. It has become possible to run a devastating three shotgun build or a sniper primary.

Some Year 1 power weapons have become kinetic: Alone as a God, Baligant, The Frigid Jackal, Hawthorne’s Field-Forged Shotgun and much more. The ammo economy has changed, with an icon appearing next to your weapon displaying it’s ammo type. There is now primary ammo and special ammo as once was in the first Destiny.

Also, Trials of the Nine will be on a hiatus and as of now has no timeline for a return.

The Powers

With this expansion comes 9 new subclasses. When players start this expansion, they will choose a new subclass branch. Once at the Dreaming City, they will find additional quests to unlock the other two subclasses.

Hunter
  • Way of the Current (Arcstrider)
  • Way of a Thousand Cuts (Gunslinger)
  • Way of the Wraith (Nightstalker)
Titan
  • Code of the Commander (Sentinel)
  • Code of the Missile (Striker)
  • Code of the Devastator (Sunbreaker)
Warlock
  • Attunement of Grace (Dawnblade)
  • Attunement of Control (Stormcaller)
  • Attunement of Fission (Voidwalker)

The Characters

In Forsaken we will lose one of the most beloved characters of the Destiny franchise – Cayde-6.

A new faction of enemies called The Scorn, overseen by the 8 barons, will be our newest enemy. The Scorn are aided by Prince Uldren Sov, the Queen Mara Sov’s brother.

We will face off against these new enemies in the Reef on the Tangled Shored and in the Dreaming City. Returning enemies like the Taken will make appearances.

Launch Day

I’m really looking forward to this newest expansion from Bungie. It’s unfortunate that Cayde-6 will be lost to us, but it’s risky gamble by Bungie that I can appreciate.

This new expansion from the storyline, new destinations, new weapons and enemies, new class abilitiesA? will hopefully breath much new needed life into Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4th with the server maintenance beginning at 10:00am EST. Servers will be available and Forsaken will be playable at 1:00pm EST.

The newest raid will be available on September 14th at 1:00pm EST.

I hope to see all of my fellow KSI guardians out there as we hunt down these barons and Uldren Sov. You can check out the official launch trailer in the meantime: Destiny 2: Forsaken
