Halloween brings us many new events, some fun treats and tricks. Read about which games are running events.
One thing we have to really look forward to as gamers are the games that we are truly invested in and passionate about hosting Annual Events. Halloween is one of those unique holidays we can let our spooky flags fly and really get excited about what’s to come.
Gamers can also often have the tendency to hop from game to game naturally. As new games are released we do anything we can to get our hands on what’s the newest and greatest! I have compiled a list of games that are doing annual Halloween Events to help bring together our Spooktacular friends and bring to light our beloved games that may be slightly forgotten, yet are still very memorable and always bring us a good time.
Halloween spectaculars on Xbox
Fortnite:Chapter 2 and Fortnitemares Event
Fortnite is a very loved and hated game by many gamers! One thing we can all admit is their creativity in cosmetics and this event is not disappointing with what we have thus far. The skins for this event were leaked and the names are very ominous and though provoking:
- Skull Trooper Neon – Male
- Gangster Monster – Male
- Ghoul Trooper – Male
- Cuddle Team Dark – Female
- The Dark One – Male
- Slurp Creature – Male
- Wraith – Female
- Pale spooky – Female
- Modern Witch – Female
Fortnite just did a complete revamp which brought many old players back to the game. The official release date has been confirmed for the Fortnitemares Event to start October 29th. Little information is available at this time.
Apex: Fight or Fright
Apex has been another highly successful Free-to-Play game on Xbox. For their first Halloween Event they release Fight or Fright running October 15th-Nov 5th.
This Event brings new cosmetics for weapons and Legends. The map King’s Canyon has been completely consumed by “the spook” and is now at night.
New game mode:Shadowfall
This game mode is similar to Halo Zombies. It starts with 32 players. Legends who fall in battle will be reborn as zombies and receive special abilities such as a new melee attack and the ability to run up walls. Once the human team is down to 10 living legends the game starts a new phase called “Escape mode”. Escape mode is a race to evacuate to the drop ship before the Zombie Legends get the chance to eat your brains.
Rocket League: Haunted Hallows
This year Rocket League is doing a crossover with the popular Netflix series Stranger Things during this Events. The Event runs from October 14th-November 11th. Play Rocket League to receive Candy Corn which are tokens you use to unlock all sorts of Halloween goodies such as banners and borders.
The map Farmstead is now a part of the Upside-Down which is essentially the opposite version of our world! Psyonix pulled a lot of inspiration from the opening portion of Stanger Things: Season 2. The map is also now red and the dread Mind Flayer is featured in the background.
Overwatch: Halloween Terror
Overwatch is running Halloween Terror from October 15th-November 4th. In traditional Blizzard fashion there are many stunning aesthetics to choose from in this years Event! Complete the weekly challenges in Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade Mode to unlock new sprays, icons, and spooky skins for the likes of Junkrat, Baptiste and Sombra.
New Game Mode: Junkenstein’s Revenge
Four player teams gather to defend Aldersbrunn from haunting horrors such as Junkenstein, and other monsters.
Also enjoy new Treats in the form of Halloween themed Loot Boxes! Be looking forward to a plethora of new skins, emotes, highlights, portraits, sprays, and more. Along with the new you are also able to unlock amazing skins from previous Overwatch Halloween Events.
Borderlands 3: Bloody Harvest
Borderlands 3 is one of the newer games on the list and impressively is already hosting a new event. Bloody Harvest starts October 24th and runs all the way through December 5th.
Jump aboard Sanctuary III and speak to the newest dinosaur friend Maurice to unlock a repeatable mission to fight certain bosses and complete challenges to unlock New gear and loot!
Destiny 2:Festival of The Lost
Festival of the Lost is back! One huge thing to note about this is that the base game on Destiny 2 has been made completely free. This year’s event runs from October 29th-November 19th.
The fun thing this Event brings is new masks that you can attach to your guardian. You can earn candy by doing Halloween challenges for your chance to win the coveted Braytech Werewolf Legendary Auto Rifle.
The Haunted Forest was released last year and is here again! You have 15 minutes to make it as far as possible beware of what you may run into.
PUBG Halloween
Pubg is doing a much smaller scale event in which they have added several interesting cosmetics that you can pay for separately. This includes The Scarecrow and Lion from The Wizard of Oz, pirate costumes and a Happy Lion!
R6 Siege:Doktor’s Curse
The Siege Halloween Event is underway offering us some striking options for Operator skins. Let’s just say that you would not want these Operators running at you in a dark hallway. This Event runs October 23rd through Novemeber 6th.
The map Theme Park has been taken over by a Frankenstein theme. You can choose from 5 different “monsters” or Defenders who do not get a weapon, only their respective gadgets. In this game of cat-and-mouse or as and attacker you can choose from 3 attackers that have Sledge-like weapons. Your goal is to kill everyone on the other team. You have 2 minutes to do it.
Halloween themed Alpha packs are here! You get a free one courtesy of Ubisoft then you have to start grinding out the Mad House Event. You then earn 2 more from getting kills and winning games in the playlist. There are some insane character skins, weapon skins, charms and more up for grabs so definitely take advantage of the opportunity.
Honorable mention…
So many games are hosting events this year:
- Dead by Daylight: Withering Blight(Oct.22-Nov. 1)
