Err, so are we all following along?
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Working in KSI in a pivotal part of leading. Whereas lower-ranking members simply play, leadership must put forth effort to change the atmosphere to condone maximum fun and limited drama.
All that work can really grind on your patience and nerves. How do you alleviate that and not build up stress to the point of snapping?
Enjoy a break. You deserve it.
Frequent, punctual breaks can allow you good time to unwind and relax.
Now, I’m not talking about taking off a week here and a week there. I’m talking about giving yourself an evening off when you’re free, or taking a day off when there’s nothing going on.
Some of the best leaders utilize these breaks in different ways.
Let’s say you work until 5 p.m. in the real world, whether working a day job or attending school.
When you get home, you hop on Xbox to do KSI things.
Maybe, say around 10 p.m., consider your KSI work day over.
This won’t be possible every night, but some evenings allow for this. You can play games or pal around with people without dealing with any drama or KSI-related problems. Allowing yourself an outlet to just play is important; it’s why we got involved in KSI to begin with.
Those who don’t give themselves a few hours here or a few hours there to relax build up stress and can often find that stress manifests in bad decisions or random outburst.
You have to find a balance of work and fun.
Don’t be afraid to give yourself that much needed time away for a little bit at a time. Just make sure to inform your superiors.
And, if God forbid, something serious pops off in your squad or division, you have to be willing to jump right back in and deal with it. There will be plenty of time to make up for it another night.
So yeah, take some breaks and relax. You work hard. You deserve some time off once in a while.
Because, as we all know…
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
