Intriguing Wisdom – KSI Food 7

The News Team had the great pleasure of interviewing KSI Food 7! This man works tirelessly as Head of the Infomation Team as well as his diligent work in the Leadership Council. We hope that you the members can learn from him and use his experience in your own work!

Tells us a bit about your KSI background.
I have been here since 2015, I was in a lot of divisions, probably about 6 or 7. I got my 7 from King when I split DR and made CD. When I left CD for DM, I started to work on some of the CEP workshops.

Back in your day how different was the community? Do you think the changes that are happening now (and this past year) have been better for the community?
Well if you do a comparison, in the beginning, there were a lot of members to play with. You felt like you were a part of something more. Also then, I didn’t know much and it was just a time to play halo 4. Now today, where I have learned from mistakes, I am a leader in a better community. KSI has made a big turn in the last year, and we have done a lot of restructuring and revising, and we’re finally getting the fruit from that tree.

Before I worked closely with the CDC department, What have you done now to change members’ outlook on it, as well as how to make it better?
Well, we have now finished the handbook, and that’s a main glossary for the members. We also did help a lot in spirit week. A big myth of the CDC is that you have to be higher up to join, which is not true. Right now, most members can join the team and speared their might. We have gotten out of that click for the leaders, and now it’s more about the members. The Education team is kicking butt with everything their doing, and in all honesty, the CDC is at its best it has ever been. It’s going to be going up from here.

What are some things we can be expecting from the Information Team for the rest of the year?
Star is taking a realistic, basic information approach. Now she is making a guide to help how to promote people. I am still hammering out the mentor program, and the overall go is to radically change everyone’s KSI experience. The normal isn’t working, it’s time we start shaking things up.

Looking back, how have you changed since being in the community before?
Wholeheartedly yes. Once I reached a maturity level in the community, I realize you need to carry yourself differently. I used to do some stupid stuff, but not anymore. I left the community and joined TSB. That time-honed my skills to help me get where I am today. I am coming up on 9 months now in the community, and things are very different.

What do you think makes a good leader for all parts of KSI?
A good leader is someone who has wisdom. The way to gain wisdom is to be taught and mentored. That’s the sole purpose of growing, and when you’re mentored, you gain wisdom. I haven’t had a lot of mentors, but I know a person who has, and they are now the Chief Knowledge Officer. The person who mentored them wasn’t important, but they helped someone become a star in the community, so wisdom is 100%.

An idea is like a virus. Resilient. Highly contagious. And even the smallest seed of an idea can grow. It can grow to define or destroy you.

What advice would you get to members now looking to move up in the community?
Honestly, the biggest advice I can offer is to keep your head straight, keep your goals in front of you, and enjoy it. If you arent enjoying it then you shouldn’t be doing it at all, it’s rough, but it’s true. This is a hobby, not a real-life job.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about the Information team and what you guys are doing now?
So recently I have been asking myself to for all aspects of KSI and that is how does this grows Clan Ops so everything we do is to grow Clan Ops, Star is doing the more detailed approach while I make the basic information, and we are working on stuff to help clan ops grow.

What is your plan in Productions?
Amazon prime day just past and I got some streaming gear, so I’ll be streaming everyone from 7 pm to 9 pm on Stellaris, and I’ll try my best to keep it going. Something I want to work on in the future, and hopefully integrate back into productions.
