Spirit Week 2019: Day 3 Recap
Day 3 of Spirit Week was long. And by long, we mean…looooooooooooooong. Rainbow Six and Karaoke made for some awesome competition. Read on!

Day 3 of Spirit Week 2019 required copious amounts of patience and understanding as there were a lot of obstacles. The Siege events started off strong, despite being a bit delayed. HUGE shutouts to the T&E and Productions staff for hanging in there and persevering with their lobbies!

Gametype: Bomb
The first few matches of Bomb were plagued with connection issues for many people. We followed Zealous Equity’s team from ES for a good hour as they played a match or 2 and advanced undefeated. Unfortunately, there was a lot of down time between these matches; the “waiting game” at its finest! The best part about the whole scenario though, was how the T&E and Productions staff kept things rolling on stream with light-hearted joking and good conversation. Kalakoi worked to keep the audience engaged – still chatting with the Twitch viewers and answering any questions that applied.
During the wait, some teams lost teammates and had to fill their spots. KSI Majesty’s team from DW had to wait a while and ended up pulling in a sub last minute. They managed to win a match in a close 4-2 against KSI TyraTyranus. Next round, Bartlett University and her team was inevitably knocked out. Fast forward to the 6 hour mark. ES and DM went head to head in the final battle of the hour. They both fought rather valiantly but ES took the win – bringing home sweet victory for their division.

Individual Event
Day three of Spirit Week featured a fan favorite – Karaoke! The event started off with a few nervous singers but quickly escalated into what the host’s referred to as “The most lit karaoke event in years!” There were many memorable performances, including some awesome guitar playing by KSI Rogue LSG88. While all the performances were great, there were a few that definitely stood out.
Judging Parameters: Difficulty, Pitch and Quality. Contestants were able to score a 1-5 in each category, the max score being 15.

- KSI Ronin 77 – Dive by Ed Sheeran
One notable performance was a cover of “Colors of the Wind” a Disney favorite sang by KSI Lady Jenny. I’d be remiss if I didn’t admit that her vocal styling and timber had me a bit choked up.
Honorable mentions go to KSI MeShell 7 and KSIxROMEO 7 (as “Billy RAY Cyrus”) for breathing new life into “Old Town Road.” The nerves were real for this duo and yet they pulled off a great sound and won over the chat with the song. Another honorable mention goes to KSI Starset 7 singing “Loose” by Daniel Caeser, I’ve never heard this song before tonight but I am now inspired to check it out!
Third place tonight was taken home by KSI Harmony 7 with her hauntingly beautiful rendition of “Blow me Away” by Breaking Benjamin. All ears were tuned in as she absolutely aced the tune!
KSI Lady Jenny tied with our winner KSI RogueLSG88 with 15 points and the final decision came down to a judges call that I did not envy them having to make!

Forums Challenge
It’s happened! For the first time in a LONG time, a division has broken the hundred vote mark in an annual event forums challenge! Demonic Mayhem has surged to the front with almost a 20 point lead over second place. Wicked Destruction sits at 86 and ES at 85. There’s still plenty of time for divisions to get their members on the forums to vote!
Remember: Members must also reply to the voting topic for their poll vote to count!
