Turkey Bowl 2018: Event Recaps

Did you miss all the action of Turkey Bowl last weekend? Check out what happened here! The KSI News Team has all the details.

Turkey Bowl!

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and with it, the 2018 Turkey Bowl. There was no rest after the feast. Members watched the parade, ate their food and had less than a day to gear up for the competition. And oh, it was good this year.

Turkey Bowl opened on Friday with a highly anticipated Black Ops 4 tournament as well as the customary UNO competition. Day 2 featured 2v2’s on both Halo 5 and Rocket League, coupled with a Destiny 2 Free For All. Turkey Bowl cruised to a close on Sunday with Custom Races on GTA 5. As with any major KSI event, our News Writers were there to cover the action and give you the recaps.

Whether you took part in Turkey Bowl or not, take a minute and read through the results. Check out how your division placed and be sure to congratulate the winners!

Day 1

Black Ops 4 – Free For All

The end of the year marks our season of new games, and with those came CoD Black Ops 4. This Free-for-all brought some triumphs and big heartaches. Add in a whole lot of Diamond guns, different maps, and intense battles and we got a major slaughter festival! The event started with a few separate lobbies, and merged into one to host the final 5. The competition in this FFA was fierce, and there was even a shield on shield battle. Congratulations to the winners of this event, and long live the bragging rights until the next Black Ops 4 FFA is hosted!

These three were fighting neck and neck the whole match. However, that ended when Orbital went on a 10 kill streak, securing the win! Day 3

Grand Theft Auto 5 – Custom Races

Tonight’s final event, and rounding out the end of Turkey Bowl, is Grand Theft Auto 5 Custom Races. This action packed and fast paced competition brought us some fierce showdowns. All the contestants certainly came in style with their souped-up whips. Each lobby competed with the bottom 2 contestants being eliminated after each round until there were only 3 drivers left. These three spectacular drivers that were brought into the final competition of the event were KSI CR4ZYJ4Y89, KSI VENUM 7, and Wild Ghost Fox. After the sweaty, mad, and erratic driving was finally over, KSI Venum 7 came out the reigning champion, and heir to ALL the bragging rights!

Forums Challenge

With every major event that KSI hosts, we have the famously known Forums Challenge. Wednesday night saw the start of this first and last Turkey Bowl event. Right out of the gate ES started the lead strong, coming out the first night with 30 votes. As the weekend events took place however, their lead would slowly give way to the giant votes thrown out by WD and DM. At the end of the Turkey Bowl, Wicked Destruction walked away with the lead, winning the Forums Challenge with a voting tally of 69. Demonic Mayhem came in second place with a voting score of 43, while Eternal Souls rounded out the votes in third with a score of 35. Thank you to all 236 members who took the time to come and support their divisions by voting!

That’s All Folks!

Sunday concluded our yearly Turkey Bowl extravaganza! We have seen some adrenaline pumping matches this year, along with some competition that required hardcore concentration. The overall theme was friendly competition, filled with the thankfulness of our fellow members.  Throughout all of the events there was a lot of positive reinforcement and encouragement on the streams, really representing what KSI means and stands for. Thank you to all of the members who came out in full force, showing support for their divisions and departments, whether it was to play in an event or watch and cheer on the fellow man. Congratulations to all of the winning teams as well! To the Tournaments and Events staff, thank you for yet another successful host and streaming event, as we couldn’t have done this without you! To all our members, we hope you had a great time, and holiday, (for those Americans), and look forward to seeing all at our next big event! And remember, you can always check out our Twitch Channel: KSILIVE  and KSILive2 for all of our live streamed events!
